Hi All:
Yes I taped an interview with Oprah. She personally called to let me know she would not have done a show with the Goldman’s had I not said yes originally. I told her the reason why I wouldn’t do the show with the Goldman’s. That the publication of the book was going to be in November and when they had a chance to go on Oprah they uped the publishing date to coincide with the show. It was a mute point. She understood and then proceeded to tell me that Nicole doesn’t have a voice on the show that Marcia Clark, Chris Darden and Dominic Dunne via satellite are going on with the Goldman’s. My initial reaction was what do those people have to do with the Civil Trial. NOTHING. I was pissed. I felt like I was pushed into a place that I didn’t want to be but I could not, not be there for Nicole. Oprah was nice and she asked me if I read the book or will I be buying it and I said NO. I asked her the same questions and she also said NO. That was worth a million bucks.

Denise,
I’m so sorry for your pain. I admire your passion and your love for not only your sister, her children but also the Goldman’s loss. Although no one can totally walk in someone else’s shoes, it’s beyond me how the Goldman’s can put a few chapters in a book by this man and publish it. If nothing else it makes OJ probably happy at their double standard. I totally understand getting the publishing rights but then they should have made sure it never saw the light of day. Thank you for you, for you heart and your passion. You are honest and I respect you so very much. Tonya

Denise,
As I sit and watch the Oprah show I am shocked at the Goldman’s. There is no greater pain then losing a child and as you have said no amount of money will bring back Nicole or Ron. OJ is nothing but a cold blooded killer as well as a coward. I feel your pain as I do the Goldman’s. In 1996 my son was brutally murdered by a COWARD as well. But in my case I feel justice was served…he turned himself in laughing and said “I hear you are looking for me.” He killed my son and his bestfriend…we asked for the death penalty…but the jury couldn’t do that so they gave him 2 back to back life sentences without parole! What I would like to say to you is have faith…I truly believe what goes around comes around. Someday OJ will stand before his maker….and there will be no greated justice in this world knowing what is in store for him…God bless you and your family…my heart goes out to all of you.

I also watched the oprah show today and also agree with you 100%, people won’t know how you feel if you don’t speak out .. Well done Denise, i am so glad your morals are in order, because the Goldmans are not!! to them its seem to be all about the money… it saddens me to think that some americans are like that. But you are not in any way Thank you Denise for holding your grounds on this topic…. i commend your strength!!!!!!!!! only if more women had your strength, and god bless you and your entire family.

I watched you today on Oprah and my heart breaks for you. You are fighting so hard for your sister and for that I am so proud of you. You are doing the right thing and please keep going, let the world know that beating/killing women is not right. You stand for something that does matter to people in this world. He is the lowest of the low and I know that one day he will get his, hell has a special place for him and I only pray that you can find peace in your life.
The goldmans’s I just don’t get them…I understand that they are hurt but this book will only cause pain and the money is not worth it…they should just keep the book and not publish it. Who cares about money when you are getting it this way. I however will not read the book, honestly I would not wipe my behind with it if I had to.

I am more than outraged that the Goldman’s published this book. They used the public back in November when they were against the book publication and convinced us that this book should “never see the light of day”. I am so sorry for the pain and anquish that this has caused your family. Your courage and integrity are a true inspiration. I pray for continued strength and wisdom to fight this battle.

Hi Denise,
I just finished watching today’s Oprah and I have to admit that I will not read the book. I am torn between both your feelings about it and the Goldmans. I think every penny they can get that OJ does not get is a good thing. I think to live with this thing, they feel they have to do something. We all know that OJ is guilty as sin. Personally, I will not buy the book, as I do not care to read what this horrible man has to say. But, on the other hand, I do hope that the Goldmans make some money, as they deserve the judgement. Blood money? Yes, the $600,000+ that OJ got is blood money. Lawyers can be the scum of the Earth. The Goldmans should have got that money, not OJ.

I pray for you daily.
I will NEVER read that awful trash book.
I am so frustrated with the Goldman’s for falling into this bloody money trap… I know they think they are doing the right thing.. and I know they lost their son… but sometimes we need to admit we made a error in our judgement.. it is not too late for them to admit they made such an error and I myself would really respect them if they did admit they made poor judgement on this book… I Pray that all people send a message and don’t buy or read this book… we don’t Have to read it… we can send a message that we don’t want to read garbage.
Keep up the awesome work Denise… God Bless You!

You are a beautiful example of someone who is trying to make a change. I commend you for not stooping to the level of accepting blood money. I don’t blame you in the least about not going on with the Goldman’s. I am so incredibly embarrassed that they actually are not getting the point.
Along the course of ten years or so, I think they seemed to have forgotten that a murder took place, and that no money, I don’t care how acquired, will not replace, heal, nor count as any kind of victory.

Hi Denise:
I taped the show and watched it last night. I can’t believe the Goldmans. I understand that it’s great they won the rights to the book, but why do they have to publish it? Why can’t they just be satisfied with that? Everyone knows the story. I read Chrisopher Dardin’s book long ago and about threw up with the details in that book.
I will NOT buy nor read OJ’s book and I don’t buy Goldman’s claim that if it saves one life, it’s worth publishing. It’s just negative hurtful trash and they need to move on.
I admire your dignity through all this. I lost a brother many years ago and know about loss, but would never presume to understand your loss of Nichole and her brutal murder, escpecially since OJ is still walking this earth. He has alot of explaining to do at ST. Peter’s gate!
You are making a positive difference in this world and I admire your stand on this issue. God Bless you and your family

Denise,
I saw you on Oprah as well as Good Morning America. Nicole is so lucky to have been given a sister like you. It’s unfortunate that she is no longer here, but you do an excellent job defending her reputation and standing up for her rights. The Goldman’s disgust me. They are as much media whores as is O.J. They continue to say this book will allow them to establish a foundation for Ron. Why didn’t they establish one in 94 like your family? At that time, the general public was so outraged, they would have made millions since it is now clear it has always been about the money for them. If they want to honor Ron, they should do it with dignity, like your family has for Nicole.
God Bless You & Yours!

Thank you for speaking up for Nicole and Ron. That book is a direct insult to both of them, as well as all murder victims and their loved ones. It makes me ill that anyone would or could want too profit from their suffering, as well as those they left behind. While I have nothing bad too say about the Goldmans, I will never understand their reasoning. I am so very sorry that you, your family members and Nicoles children are being slapped in the face with this…again. I won’t forget Nicole and Ron. Thank you for all your hard work Denise. God Bless.

Denise-
You keep saying that the nation made it clear that they didn’t want to see a book published discussing OJ’s horrible acts in a book entitled “If..l did it.”
Try to understand that people change their minds, especially on such a volatile subject as the one we have before us. At the time, knowing OJ would be profiting from such a release, I too was relieved when Harper pulled the plug…
But now it is different. He will not profit from his disingenuous “voice,” so he won’t be laughing at us. On the contrary, he will be allowing the world to discover how such a monster denies and rationalizes his abusive behavior to a woman. And may I say, I think this is huge.
Why does domestic violence against women persevere?
Why can’t the abused woman see what is happening to her and get out?
Here is why I believe it happens:
It is the extraordinary finesse, the carefully executed emotional barbs from the “loving husband” that begin immediately after the wedding that chip slowly away at the woman’s self-concept leaving her in ruins by the time the physical abuse begins. Bit by bit, negative comments deliberately planned to ALMOST go unnoticed in the beginning. Comments so visceral in their intent, however, that they leave the wife in utter confusion, questioning her own intelligence.
This, I believe is the reason for the silent face of domestic violence.
I would rather have this book out so every woman who has that aching suspicion that they might be married to an abusive monster, is able to find out. To have the proof right in front of them, in the printed word,..to see the behavior and the denial and such of these men….well…maybe it will move things along for those women.
It took me 15 years to figure it out.
You spend your life convincing yourself that he just couldn’t have meant to say anything as cruel as that……no, he must have said it slightly differently…because,
Because if there were men as mean as that, wouldn’t we have heard about this disorder before?
With the utmost respect and love to you,
psapp

I am all for the stand Denise made on Oprah and Larry King that I hardley ever watch. This was an interview that showed where the Goldman’s heart and sincerity comes from the all mighty dollar at the expense of 2 people who were inocent and not looking to be wealthy. Blood money only serves the greedy. Money shoul be spent for thr program Denise started for battered mothers who relly need our help and money.
Haiil to Denice for being and humble to educate and set a higher standard besides cash. If there is anything I can do to help from Scottsdale,AZ, count me a sodier for the cause.

Fred Goldman gave up a year of his life attending the trial and a year’s income. Any way to keep the killer from getting money is worth it, and I will buy the book, even though I don’t plan on reading it. It is only blood money if the killer gets it.

Denise has made a living from the sad deaths of Nicole and Ron for many years. I don’t criticize her for it. She is doing good at the same time. But I don’t understand why so many of you criticize the Goldmans for making a little money now. Both sides are doing the right thing–keeping the killer from getting money, and keeping his infamy in the public eye. I hope his recent arrest costs him a lot of money and his freedom.

To Howard:
What honest presentation? The Goldmans lied years ago when they filed the civil suit. They said it wasn’t about money, they just wanted a jury to find him guilty. They knew before they filed the lawsuit OJ was judgement proof and would never pay them. Yet, they have wasted years of their lives chasing their tails looking for pennies. Freddie was a cardboard box salesman before the murders. He tried to become a victims advocate and radio host but failed. They are not the only creditors. I could have respected it had they just been honest in the beginning and said we want money, blood money or otherwise, b/c we are money whores. Fred had the audacity to say yesterday on the radio that Denise would not be against the book if she had gotten the 40% she asked for. He KNOWS that is a boldface LIE. Denise never asked for anything. Her father, who has a fidcuiary duty to assert a claim EVERY single time the Goldmans make a claim. He further went on to say or maybe it was that idiot daughter of his who said she was baffled why Denise is upset, so it must be sour grapes b/c she didn’t get the 40%. LOL. okay Kim, let me get this straight, Denise Brown is only upset about the book now b/c she didn’t get something that she never asked for?? Of course this is from the same idiot who plays the shocked victim that OJ has not honored the judgement. What a bad bad boy. . Fred nor Kim has addressed the question why is the book a disgusting piece of filth that should never see the light of day 9 months ago when OJ and the Estate of Nicole were ostensibly the financial beneficiaries; but now that the Goldmans are the financial beneficiaries the book has become a masterpeice and must be sold? It does NOTHING for victims of domestic violence. They live it, they can put in the punctuation. Is Fred so ignorant and stupid that he thinks a woman reading this will become enlightened and think to themselves oh, now I got it. Here’s how he’ll kill me?????? Maybe if I wear turtlnecks, it will be harder for my husband to slit my throat. Fred and his daughter are morons and don’t give a rats patooey about anything or anyone except money. Got news for you Freddie, all the money in the world ain’t gonna bring Ron back. So maybe NOW would be a good time to start dealing with your guilt for not being a part of Ron’s life much and not helping him financially when he needed help. Kim hadn’t talked to him for months. She couldn’t even be bothered to return his phone call of a few days earlier. All the money in the world ain’t gonna change that either.
Denise you done good, as my mommy use to say. I’m proud of you! And Oprah came thru like a champ. DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK.

I read the book and am sorry I wasted my time. I can totally understand your anger and wanting to stop it from being published. I don’t understand the thinking of the Goldman family in going ahead with the publication. If that had been their son being trashed for over 100 pages, I doubt they would have gone forward with it. Nicole deserved better.

Denise,
I have followed this since the death of Ron and Nicole. I personally think on both sides the Browns and the Goldmans there are issues. I agree that making money off the book is terribly wrong, but who has not made money of their deaths. From all the attorneys, families, its all terrible. I know that your cause is a great cause, but are you going to honestly say that you do not make a living off what you do in the NAME of your sister? Compare today verses when Nicole was alive are you more financially success, well-known? Because before the death of your sister I had never heard of Denise Brown. So, everyone has made money off the death of Nicole Brown Simpson on just simply her being OJ Simpson’s wife. It really is sad that you or your family could never pick up on all the problems she had for years with OJ, but like it has been written so many times everyone had a monatery interest in her relationship with him. Maybe Nicole would like it if you and everyone let her name be forgotten and finally stopped cashing in at her expense. Their are no innocent bystanders in this with exception to her children. Good luck and may God show you the way to have peace within for your own lack of actions so many years ago. It is not very becoming to judge others when you ALL hae benefitted from NICOLE BROWN SIMPSON’S NAME.
My opinion…

Denise,
Please stop feeding into the belief that it HAD to be O.J. If you truly want retribution for your sister’s death then please look at the evidence against O.J.’s oldest son Jason and his involvement in the murders. YOU WILL FIND ANSWERS. O.J. is in prison now, right where everybody wants him, but he was covering for his son Jason. O.J. abused your sister more than any man should ever abuse a woman (even once is enough)….THAT DOES NOT EQUATE TO MURDER….SHE WAS NOT BEATEN TO DEATH.
LOOK AT THE FACTS INTO THE INVESTIGATION OF JASON LAMAR SIMPSON. IF YOU CONTINUE TO TURN AWAY FROM THIS IN ANGER, THEN YOU ARE TURNING AWAY FROM JUSTICE FOR NICOLE. HER MURDER DESERVES TO BE FULLY INVESTIGATED. IT DOES NOT STOP WITH O.J. IF YOU WANT TO FIND THE REAL KILLER THEN LOOK INTO O.J.’S SON AND O.J.’S COVERUP OF THE REAL FACTS.
O.J. CONTINUES TO MOCK YOUR FAMILY AND THE WORLD ALL THE WHILE SPINNING THE CONTROVERSY TO POINT DIRECTLY AT HIM AND AWAY FROM JASON. O.J. IS LOCKED AWAY NOW, AND HOWEVER SWAYED THAT JURY WAS FROM 1994, THAT STILL SHOULDN’T GIVE ANYONE RETRIBUTION. THE KILLER IS STILL OUT THERE…
wicke said,

Denise,
I would like to get your comments on the facts that have been presented about Jason Simpson, O.J.’s son being the real killer, or Jason being at the crime scene to help O.J, or vice versa.
Nicole and Ron’s murders are still open for investigation, and this has been covered up since day 1. The facts will be presented to the public soon, and I want to give you a chance to help in the investigation.
His involvement was there, and he has had a free pass from everyone (along with others) all along. Your hatred towards the killer should not stop with O.J., even if he was involved, I believe Jason was involved too.
Please comment on the investigation of Jason…I can discuss it at length with you if you would like.
