It’s a step in the right direction that Barnes and Noble will not sell the book. I only wish they weren’t selling it at all and their reasons for not doing so a bit more than lack of public interest. The fact that this book is being published is an outrage and a disgrace to our society. It not only shows that some, will take the opportunity to profit no matter what the circumstances and worse, the complete and utter disregard for the victim and the family.
“”We think it will have some interest in the first week or two, then die down,” said Binkley, who added that Borders, which for the original book had planned to donate profits to charity, will not do so this time.
B and N is just not selling the book in the stores. It is still available online. Doesn’t sound like a moral decision to me, just a business decision. I only shopped at Borders because it is a Union store, but this decision makes me reconsider. I bet Borders will eventually pull it.
That Eric Kampmann guy is a prick for blaming it on B&N for inspiring it from the HarperCollins incident. The only reason B&N is not selling it ’cause no one wants to see it on the shelves. I expect other bookstores like Borders, Waldenbooks, etc. to ban the book as well. While I am not a big fan of B&N bookstore, I’ll give them kudos this time for doing a smart thing finally!
This morning there’s a headline that online book sales at B&N have surged since Oprah announced her upcoming show on 9/13 with Denise and the Goldman’s as guests – maybe things like that shouldn’t happen so that no public interest in this book is stirred. Although the killer isn’t getting any money – won’t he get satisfaction (and a boost to his already over-inflated ego) that people are interested in reading what he wrote?
Denise,First I would like to say I am truly sorry for your loss. That man who took your sisters life will pay for his actions, unfortunatly we probably won’t see it happen the way we would like. The reason I think the Goldmans have the right to due this book is because of the years they have been after this animal, and if their’s any way to keep him from getting a penny from this then so be it. Anyone who feels the need to read this, for whatever reason(Im not) is their right. At least we know that monster won’t profit off it. Like I said though, the Goldmans kept after him and I feel it’s really a shame for you to publically have this disagreement concerning money! And think about the animal, with his warped mind, probably laughing about the two families he put through pure hell, at odds with each other over something he started. God Bless
Fred Goldman is using the fact that his son was killed by a star athelete to exploit money. If he was intrested in justice he would make sure that Nicole’s children were getting more than 10% of the procedes of this book if it is published. He needs to put the procedes of the book to use in Rons name and quit using Ron for his own monetary gain..
Very well said Kelly Nesmith. But poor freddie can’t seem to get a job.
anthony: money talks.
david Huntley: While I can see your point, Denise was between a rock and a hard place. She had had taken a stand along with the Goldmans 9 months ago and now the Goldmans have bailed on her for their own greedy gain. She had no choice but to speak out. I think Oprah needs to stop giving the Goldmans an audience.
Come on Denise, darling, I know you have the power to sue the publishing company, the Goldman’s and everything else. Get yourself a good lawyer and get to work on it! If you want to fight back at everyone, get yourself a lawyer and SHOW IT!!!! Go Denise, GO!

The very publicity that you’ve generated, probably lead to the decision for them to carry the book. Kinda ironic don’t you think.

Come on people, let’s be honest – there’s a reason Denise doesn’t want this book published and it has NOTHING to do with Sydney and Justin – who, by the way, stood to profit from this book. She’s not getting her fair share, that’s why she doesn’t want it out there: http://confessionsofakiller.wordpress.com/2007/09/07/why-denise-brown-doesnt-want-this-book-published/
